Celebrate the inclusion of Glasgow Declaration in the Global Climate Action Portal of UNFCCC.
🗣 UNWTO convened today leading signatories of the Glasgow Declaration to demonstrate for tourism progress on the COP28 theme (Unite.Act.Deliver.)
🤝 Only together we can advance climate action in the tourism sector.
Joined by the President of UNWTO’s General Assembly, the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, Iberostar Group, Radisson Hotel Group, the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance and NOAH, the panel showcased fundamental actions to accelerate the Net Zero transformation of hospitality; discussed circular economy as a strategic climate action strategy; reflected on the importance of engaging the supply chain to catalyse progress, as well as on the need to drive the demand for sustainable travel and to unlock finance.
✍ Moreover, the Key Takeaways of the Glasgow Declaration Implementation Report 2023 were released. Out of 420 signatories which reported, 261 also submitted their first Climate Action Plan.

🌏 During COP28, for the first time ever, UNWTO will also host an official exhibition booth for the Glasgow Declaration in the Blue Zone where the signatories showcase their innovative solutions. The exhibit titled “Transforming the “Transforming the way we Travel” is scheduled for 10th and 11th December 2023 and will be joined by the Canary Islands, Bucuti & Tara Resort, Lamington Group, Ponant Cruises, Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative, Guava Amenities, Winnow, among others.
